THE MOVIE

Inspired by our Writer and director’s near-death experience, the film immerses us in the transformative tale of Eric and Samuel, two men locked in a desperate struggle for survival, teetering on the brink of oblivion. A fateful encounter shatters their reality, propelling them into the chilling Chönyid 5th Bardo—a nightmarish realm caught in a gripping limbo between life and Death. Eric finds himself face-to-face in the past with eighty-one-year-old writer Sidonie Colette on the very day that fate seals her destiny.
Meanwhile, Samuel becomes entangled in an unnerving web of violence as he witnesses a brutal murder at the infamous National Burlesk Theater involving the opulent Eloise Asylum. In this phantasmagorical chasm winding illusion, fantasy, and reality, the shadows control time, and Ghosts rule space.
The 5th Bardo forces them to succumb to its merciless mirrored realm to confront their deepest fears, regrets, and heart desires. Every harrowing life lesson unravels like a tightly wound coil, unveiling a horrid truth that threatens to shatter their identities.
The Director, a figure of mystifying power, stands at the nexus of destiny, revealing a revelation that slices through the fabric of existence: they are one soul, cruelly severed by destiny. What was once perceived as a solitary journey toward an unimaginable fate, a singular choice, may guide it to enlightenment.
The three theaters: choice, consequence, and verdict conspire to keep them trapped in a cycle of regret and fear. But the ticking stopwatch evolves into a double entendre outside the Bardo, for Death is knocking, ghosts are forever clapping, and shadows desire their light.
